2009

Wow, it's 2009!! What happened to 2000? How is it possible that 9 years has just slipped by? I must be getting older. Our 2009 was pretty boring. Did some shopping and gift returning earlier in the day then had a lovely dinner at Don Jose's. They were setting up for their party that night so all I could hear was the sound of balloons being blown up. I HATE that sound! I'm so paranoid that the balloon is going to pop and scare the shit out of me. Luckily only one balloon popped and I survived. Anywho, we then went home and watched all the countdown shows on tv in our jammies. We toasted the New Year with champagne and grape cider. The champagne was a bottle that we got for our breakfast on the day of our wedding. We never got to drink it so we saved it for a special occasion. We both thought it was nasty so we drank the cider. haha The champagne was really dry and bitter. If it's not sugary and sweet, I'm not drinking it. I didn't take any pictures either. Figured I would live in the moment and leave the camera in it's fancy new bag that the hubs got me for Christmas. On New Year's day we took the girls to the American Girl store at the Grove in Los Angeles to see the unveiling of the new doll for 2009. Brandon hung out with Grandma Betty and Drew slept (of course). They spent their money that Gawa gave them for Christmas (thanks Gawa!!). Both girls got dolls and they did some crafts while they were there too.

Then it was off to the movies to see The Tale of Despereaux and Marley and Me. First one was cute, second one was cute but had everyone bawling at the end. Seriously thought we had traumatized the kids. We ended the night at Chilis for dinner.

The last week with his kids here have been fun. Hectic, loud and messy, but fun. We've gone out to dinner a few times, hung out together watching tv, watched the kids play the Wii and went to the movies. Kids got along pretty good, didn't seem sick of each other. No major fights, just some snottiness and bickering here and there, which is pretty typical. They go back to their mom's tonight and they all have school on Monday. Boo.
