Onto more exciting news!! He took his driving test today for his license and actually passed!!! The day started out like crap and I didn't think he'd get to test at all today. His permit was getting ready to expire so if he didn't test in the next few days we'd have to start the process all over again. I really didn't want to have to pay for driver training and behind the wheel again so he was going to get his license TODAY!! So here's how the day went:
- get to DMV at 9am for his test
- realize Drew forgot his proof from driving school that he took behind the wheel (after I already forgot our insurance papers earlier)
- run home to get said paper after nice DMV lady said we could go home and get it
- Drew can't find paper and tears his room apart looking for it
- wait until 10am for driving school to open to get a copy
- pay $15 for copy
- go back to DMV (2 hours after our appointment)
- new mean lady at the counter says we'll have to reschedule since we are so late
- argue (not really argue but talk sternly) with mean lady that another couple outside weren't able to take the driving test due to bald tires and can't Drew have their spot???
- mean lady decides to let Drew test
- Drew takes test and somehow passes after going 5mph above the speed limit and not staying in the right lane after making a right hand turn
- eat at Legends to avoid starving to death
- worry myself sick thinking about cost of insuring a 16 year old male
He's got his license but he's going to have to pry the keys from my hands. I'm not quite ready for him to be driving and I don't think any of you are either. ;)
